Volunteers are needed for many school activities in addition to class field trips. Please complete the volunteer form if you are interested in volunteering in our classroom and/or school. Volunteer opportunities are listed below.

Volunteer Opportunities

  • Field Trip Chaperone - responsibilities include accompanying class at designated location & time to monitor and assist a small group of children and classroom teacher. Chaperones may car pool and meet class at location and/or follow the school bus from SHL.

  • Hallway Reader - responsibilites include working one-on-one with a student to reinforce & practice a variety of literacy skills/strategies.

  • Hallway Mathematician - responsibilities include working one-on-one with a student to reinforce & practice a variety of math skills/strategies.

  • Guest Reader - reads aloud a picture book to the whole class. *Guest reader may also extend the read aloud with a related craft/extension activity (*optional).

  • Take-Home Bag- the volunteer will recieve a bag/box  filled with items to complete at home .For example: cutting out laminated pictures, assembling crafts, etc..

  • Teacher Assistant - responsibilites include copying, collating, cutting construction paper, organizing classroom library, taking down/putting up bulletin boards, binding class books,etc...
